Dupont Hospital - BAS, FORT WAYNE, IN
Havel provided and installed a new, state-of-the-art Building Automation System (BAS) for this hospital. The new BAS is capable of integrating into the hospital’s network of modern medical workstations and browsers, helping the facility operate efficiently and effectively.
After recognizing that their BAS was outdated and using a head-end which was no longer factory supported, Lutheran Health Network (LHN) determined it needed to bring in a team of controls and automation experts to help them overhaul and modernize their network.
The project required significant coordination with LHN’s Information and Technologies Department. Havel’s technicians set up an enterprise server that not only hosted BAS applications for the Dupont Hospital buildings, but also for other LHN facilities across Fort Wayne.
Havel performed the following:
- Updated BAS head-end
- Brought all legacy controllers into a single platform
- Replaced obsolete field controllers
- Updated BAS graphical interface to a server-based system for viewing from any authorized workstation
- Updated graphics with HTML5 programming compatible with modern web browsers
- Ongoing service and support
The Lutheran Health Network is an integrated healthcare provider that includes more than 100 access points across northern Indiana. LHN has contracted Havel for BAS services at facilities in Fort Wayne, including the Dupont Hospital, Rehabilitation Hospital, Fort Wayne Orthopedics, and the Lutheran Business Operations Center.
